Schaumburg sting results in prostitution, human trafficking arrests

Schaumburg police, with assistance from the FBI, conducted three undercover prostitution operations in late January that led to the arrest of a Mount Prospect man and two out-of-state women.

The coordinated operations Jan. 26 also led to victim advocate services being provided for a woman believed to be a victim of human trafficking. She was not charged.

The two women arrested on the day of the operation were Lanesha D. Todorovich, 21, of Milwaukee, and Laquesta C. Rice, 27, of Indianola, Mississippi. Both were charged with solicitation of a sexual act.

As the investigation continued, Phillip Puccio, 28, of Mount Prospect, was charged Saturday with one Class X count of involuntary servitude, one Class 1 count of involuntary servitude and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Undercover Schaumburg tactical officers, Schaumburg detectives and FBI agents conducted the prostitution operations at area hotels. The operations were organized through the use of online resources and the cooperation of hotel management.

Puccio, whose bond was set at $500,000, is scheduled for his next hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
